Catalyst Business Coaching & Development is a business coaching and consulting firm dedicated to the success of all businesses. We, ourselves, have been in business since 2009 and have helped many companies to achieve their goals, whether it be creating a better hiring processes, streamlining all of their business processes, improving operations, improving marketing, improving customer service, helping to improve leadership, organizational development, sales training, expense reduction, etc. We've done it all since 2009 and our average return to our clients to date is a whopping 801% ROI (return on investment)!

We have worked with companies that are just in the beginning phases of starting up all the way up to companies with a gross annual revenue of $20 million. We've worked with companies all across this great country as well. Surprisingly, all businesses need some sort of help from time to time to "drive the ball down the field". Some clients engage with us perpetually, while others use us just occasionally. Either way, it works for us because our mission is to help businesses become stronger in order to help America to become stronger.

Catalyst Business Coaching & Development was founded by Scott A. Rozanski in 2009 after being certified as a Licensed Professional Business Coach by the PBCA. Scott is also an owner of a senior care business (SAR Enterprises, Inc. DBA Home Instead Senior Care), which he opened in March of 2000. After breaking even in December of 2000 (after only 9 months of being in business), Scott began working with other senior care business owners outside of his geographic location as a business coach in order to help them to better their business’ performance overall. He worked with them to increase profitability, decrease expenses, and to decrease inefficiencies. Scott was very successful and decided to try other industries. Since 2009, Catalyst has helped many companies become more profitable, more efficient and have given our clients a peace of mind they might not have ever achieved.
Scott’s strength; however, lies in helping organizations with their organizational development -- putting the right people in the right seats, on the right “bus”, going in the right direction. The best part about working with Catalyst is that Scott offers his clients REAL WORLD experience. Today, there are so many business coaches and consultants who simply don’t have the business or life experiences that actually translate into practical and substantive solutions for their clients because of many reasons: they have not built their own business, they have not had to hire hundreds and hundreds of employees, they have not had to experience the many diverse circumstances that entrepreneurs have to deal with on a daily basis, they've never had to worry about not making payroll, they've never had to fire people, and they just don’t know the basic principles of running a business. Scott has built multiple businesses from scratch successfully and his companies currently employ close to a hundred people.

The reason clients come to us is many, but the main reason is that business owners seem to get to a point in their business where everything seems to be getting out of hand, so to speak. They feel like they’re losing control of their business. And you know what? They are! Most business owners who have started from scratch can expect to feel things getting “out of control” around the $700K - $1M annual revenue mark. This is actually when most businesses fail or during times of high growth. So while everyone is clamoring to get advice from marketing consultants, we, as holistic business coaches focus on helping our clients stay in business when things get tenuous. Some would say that having a lot of business is a “good problem to have”. But in actuality, if you have more business then you can handle, then you haven’t learned how to scale your business, how to build a great team to help you manage the extra workload or you might not understand how to manage your finances, etc. Whatever the case, the fact of the matter is, it won’t help you one bit to get a ton of business directed your way if you are not going to be able to fulfill your customers’ orders. What Areas Does a Catalyst Business Coach or Business Consultant Help?

  1. Foundation work – Crafting your company's Mission Statement, Vision Statement, identifying your Core Focus and your company’s Core Values. You have to know what you're about to define your unique selling proposition.
  2. Human Resources – We show our clients how to systematize your entire HR department (even if that HR department is just you), so that is takes very little of your time to hire the right people the first time who are going to be the kind of employees who are around for a long time to help you grow your business.
  3. Customer Service – Seems like everyone should be able to provide great customer service without fail, right? But, how many times have you called a business and were treated rudely or the employee on the other end of the phone was just unprofessional or you had to wait 20 minutes to track down your waiter at a restaurant? This happens a lot and a lot more than most business owners know or wants to admit. We help our clients employ best practices when it comes to dealing with the public so that people will not only be coming back to buy from you over and over again, but that they will be talking about you to everyone about how great your business is.
  4. Operations – Without sound execution in regard to the operations of a business, that business is doomed to failure. There are a lot of balls to juggle when running a business and only doing it right occasionally or not at all is a recipe for disaster. We look at every aspect of our clients’ business and help them to maximize efficiency and eliminate inefficiencies.
  5. Systematization/Processes – What’s the difference between a billion dollar business and a million dollar business? The amount of effective systems in place. When Scott was in the military (US Naval Intelligence), he noticed that everything they did had a process that was drilled into anyone’s head who would be working that particular process. This is what enabled 18-year-old kids to launch $50 million dollar fighter aircraft without fail hundreds of times a day from the aircraft carrier he was stationed on – everyone following a proven and effective process. A system!
  6. Marketing – This is everyone’s favorite as mentioned above, but again without the proper effective systems in place, effective customer service, tight operations or not having an HR system that works, getting all of the clients in your entire market will not help you one bit to stay in business. In fact, having all of the deficiencies that most businesses have and adding more clients to the mix will probably cause you to go out of business or at the very least your business’ reputation will suffer. Catalyst can help to drive targeted leads to you. We have a proprietary method for making sure that you are the leader in your market and attracting more business than anyone else. We will show you what works, what doesn’t, what to try, for how long and where you can save a ton of money by NOT wasting your hard-earned cash on marketing approaches that just don’t work at all. We'll also teach you how to measure a marketing approach's effectiveness.
  7. Leadership – This is probably one area business owners neglect to spend any amount of time on at all. Yet Leadership is probably one of the most important areas that a business owner can spend time on. If we’ve help you improve your hiring, what good does that do you if you, as the business owner, just drive them away because you are not a good leader? No good whatsoever. We will show you how to be the leader you’ve always dreamed of being. Not some cookie cutter approach, but one that is unique to you and your behavioral style and skill set.
  8. Sales – Yet another are where everyone wants to kill it and rightfully so. Without a good sales process getting leads for your business becomes a huge marketing expense and nothing to show for it. Why keep driving referrals if you can’t close the sale? Why not learn how to up-sell, cross-sell, and down-sell? Why not have a process in place that FITS YOUR BUSINESS that will help you convert leads consistently? That’s what Catalyst will educate you on – how to consistently capture a good amount of your referrals time and time again.
  9. Financial Management – Again, one of the most overlooked areas of business these days by small business owners. Everyone believes because they have an accountant that they don’t need to know how to manage the business’ finances. No offense to accountants, but in our experience they are the most risk-averse people on the planet and they will RARELY tell you that you are headed for disaster. They typically tell you crucial things about your business only IF YOU ASK. But if you don’t know what to ask, how are you supposed to do that? We literally had a prospective client come in to see if it would make sense for us to work with them and when asked what their revenue was for last year their answer was, “I’m not sure.” When asked what they made (their take home pay) last year their answer was yet again, “I’m not sure, I’ll have to ask my accountant.” Needless to say, this prospective client needed us! Business owners need to know how to read their financial reports (ask Willie Nelson about this), they need to know what Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are and why they are important in managing their business, they need to know ratios, they need to know what is going on with their profitability, their income, their expenses, etc. We know this can seem very overwhelming, but we make it simple to understand what your business is telling you via your financials. We’ll show you how to drive your business by educating you and empowering you to be able to ask really good questions that will tell you what you need to know about your business and if you even have an accountant worth the price you are paying them.
  10. Strategic Planning – We work with our clients to ensure they are always considering the “big picture” in regard to their business. A lot of business owners develop tunnel vision and have a tendency to "manage the minutia" day in and day out. This can have detrimental effect on the growth of any business. Catalyst shows our business owners how to plan year to year or whatever frequency they desire so that their business is constantly fresh and effective.
  11. Advanced Entity Structuring – This is an area that few understand and it’s okay. Accountants get this and they are essential in determining if this is a way for you to go or not. In essence what we are looking to do here is minimize your tax liability as much as possible all in the most legal and ethical way to do. There are essentially two tax codes: One for the educated and one for the poor! We educate you – plain and simple.
  12. Exit Planning/Succession Planning – We have helped many of our clients to retire. We are very proud of this because some of the clients we have worked with and are working with are nearing retirement age, but before coming to Catalyst, they had no idea of how they were going to retire. They had no plan and most hadn’t even given it a thought because they didn’t believe it possible to extricate themselves from the business and end up with a nice nest egg to live on hopefully for the rest of their days. Or maybe they don't necessarily want to sell, but instead be an absentee owner. Either way, that is now a reality for a lot of our clients.
